At last, Whistler! The culminating moment of a two-week excursion to and from Canada was a day at Whistler-Blackcomb. (Seeing Sarah in Los Angeles was pretty good, too, I guess.) Whistler is the stuff of legends and for no small reason – how does 18′ of snow this season sound? It’s also the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Skiers can race Lindsey Vonn (or at least pretend to) on the Women’s and Men’s Downhill course.
Our bluebird day at Whistler was a bit hardpack, but really how much can you complain?
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is not to be ridden in a windstorm as it “free spans” the 1.88 miles between Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains. There’s also a 436′ drop to the valley floor below.
